i was in bali from 24th to 27th january 2008 sponsored by ATCEN International Group. it was one of the event that everyone (incl me) looking forward too. not because it was a bali trip, because we all know how much fun we gonna have with each other around.
before we take off from klia, we (particularly me) managed to snapping pictures at the airport like we are tourist that not gonna coming back to malaysia anymore. we arrived in bali in late evening and we were welcome by a bunch of balinese girls with the scented (jasmine?) flower. then straight for a dinner at jali jali restaurant at galleria (one of the shopping mall in bali and almost every tourist come here for their first meal in bali, i reckon cos all i see around the restaurant is bunch of tourists.
then straight to hotel after dinner, check-in, rest, lazying around and jump into the pool (they close at 10 pm). after splashing like bloody hippo, a bunch of us decided to walk around kuta area. we walk, walk, walk, walk, walk and walk until we pass by hard rock bali, then jeng jeng, kuta beach! everyone so glad finally see the beach and madness waves. some even managed to get wet.
second day... temple visiting. it was humid and hot weather in bali. we were in a bus on our way to bedugul. along the way we stopped at the one of the royalty temple. apparently the royalty still residing around the area. picture snapping time, smile under hot sun and voila, we out and heading to lunch place above the hill. breathtaking view downhill of paddy field. eat, snap pictures, eat, laugh, group photo and we continue the journey to bedugul. bedugul is sorta like cameron highland/genting of malaysia. it has chilled weather. and the purpose we are at bedugul is to visit one temple that is on the lake. however, rain welcome us at bedugul. it was cute moment of us snapping pictures with umbrella in our hand. then we off to fruit market and more rain.. need not to say already!
we continue journey to monkey temple. scary but good experience. i think the monkey has more guts than me. walk around and the off we go to tanah lot temple. this is the moment that we been waiting for. to see the sunset and enjoyed god's creation that we sometimes took advantage off. snapping pictures, shop around and some even gotten temporary tattoo.. ahem ahem! dinner was at one of the restaurant around kuta. back to hotel and time to raid kuta area again and visiting the black october area (the bombing area). monument erected and lotsa ppl are around the area. some major sites are plan to built there. we'll have to wait and see.
third day... bali felt like a home already. we went to few tourist commercial area. see how they weave, made wood sculpture and see art & painting. then had lunch at padi prada (how glam, am sure miu miu family second this place) and had crispy duck. yummy but a bit too hard to eat (pssttt.. all their fried food are very hard and crispier). then heading to ubud. had bu oka (babi guling or suckling pig) and hmmm no comments on that and then and then and then... shopping time. i am so overwhelmed with pasar ubud. the stuff they sell, the sellers and ultimately the place itself. i don't like it cos it make me suffocated.. the heat and the surrounding but i enjoyed the area looking at so many variety of items to buy and bargained for. then we visit balinese traditional house. eye-opener for me. sunset dinner at jimbaran beach. nice place but beach is not clean (mind you). food was great. head back to hotel and paint kuta town red! we went to one of the club to see sexy dancers on the bar. hmmm.. but i enjoyed the bali bintang beer more than seeing the girls. eye-opener to some. late night in bali...
fourth day... morning chilling out at the lazy pool. try get sun tanned. after that, getting ready to check out. at the airport, while waiting to check-in, we took a lot of crazy picture until one of our colleague asked us, why most of pictures was taken at the airport?.. hehehe.. landed at klia.. home sweet home!
