my thoughts, it was something that i do not expected. i hated it @ first listen. too heavy synth and her voice are ummm.. what's wrong with this producer now days. where is the good old days song that actually has voice! uugghh.. however, i am downloading the remixes. see how good it is.

mamma mia! love is in the air...

managed to catch mamma mia! on big screen over the weekend. not going to mention about what is all about, because you all have read about it unless you are from planet zartok, please click here.

anyhow, the movie is one of the MUST watch on my list for this year and boy, how disappointed i am with the movie. it could do better than what they are produce (c'mon mr & mrs hanks - you can do better i bet). however, kudos to ABBA for the fun and lovable music, so thank you for the music, the song i am singing (literally lip sync throughout the whole movie).

other note, casting wise.
meryl streep - a big star but it was a stiff performance doll, chop, chop, next!
pierce brosnan - if you have played bond, doesn't mean you have persona. still stiff with bad singing.
colin firth - i think he will be a good to play lead role instead of the above, but then again.. anyways, lovable character colin, very spontaneous.
stellan skarsgard - not much comments on his character except the tattoo looks cool on his butt cheeks.
amanda seyfried - a right casting (finally).
julie walters - god, i feel tired watching her jumping and boogeying and still she has the energy. where did she got it?
christine baranski - right casting to play her character. love her segment in 'does your mother know?' - girl, you rawk!

and last but not least, the hottie..
dominic cooper - hot! hot! hot! and being trained in musical, boy sure he can sing. next we see him in 'the duchess' along side with ralph fiennes and kiera knightley. *drool*

his rendition of 'lay all your love on me' is soo hot! definitely highlight of the movie for me beside meryl streep 'the winner takes it all'

after touch blues, jazz, soul and funk in 'Back to Basics', she went into pop art era, with new sound of synth, heavy bass and acid rock (think goldfrapp's supernature sound). very eclectic indeed.

yes! i am getting HARD!

one of the album that i have been waiting for a very long time. she made me confessed with her on the dance floor a few years ago and until now i am still confessing my love to her music.

she return to us with lotsa of candy to offer. it was sweet, nice, yummy, sticky and hard! Hard Candy. Set to release on 24th April, and i've got a chance to listen to the entire album. hard candy is madgesty 11th studio album and her last album with warner music before she release a new album under new label.

personal view

as this is madonna, it is hard to guess what she will be doing. when the news reported that she will be release a new album and who she will worked with for the album, it was completely major headline. Timba, JT, Pharrel are among the names plucked out to work with her and yes they did. they really add wonders, sugar and spice to whole album. i was completely blown away on how versatile madgesty adjusting to new sound (nothing new eh). i can smell big money coming for her.. oh, you can easily know who produce the track as all the producer use their distinctive sound and incorporate madgesty sound/voice into it.

personal thought on the track:

candy shop
a mid tempo track to open the album is so madonna (with the exceptional of hung up from confession's album) style. this songs very catchy and heavy beat... my sugar is raw, sticky and sweet! kudos to pharrel! this is very single material..

4 minutes
selected as her first single from the album and it already crown number one in uk this week. timba work his magic in this album. i hated it at first, then it grew in me... it has the addictive tempo and featured two biggest artiste timba and jt. we've got 4 minutes to save the world! tick tock tick tock..

give it 2 me
my favorite track from the album. this track remind of some of her older songs. it was like a mix of get together meet acoustic heavy drum and madonna raw voice mixed with decode voice were use in this track. this track would make it big in europe. it has the sound of euro pop/trance in it. another single material. oh, don't miss the 'gamelan' sound at the bridge of the songs. awesome!

heartbeat
the song has the hearbeat like massive attack songs, then kick in synth which sound like kylie's songs.. then it all started a new songs, mid tempo song with a nice synthesizers sound. very acid rock style and add a dash of heavy drum set. and madge sang - see ma booty get down...!

miles away
something i don't expect her to include in the album. she did this style of music for her drowned world tour for la isla bonita set. acoustic guitar with light bass beat. this time is different because it was add with timba signature sound. it was cuntastic songs.

she's not me
oh whoa! my favorite already this track. it has the disco mix with ol' skool rnb think 'ring my bell'. my feet tapping while listening to this song. another single material. this would be a huge success in dance chart. kudos to all the dj.

incredible
very distinctive pharrell sound. fun and nice track listen to. make you wanna shake the booty with the beat.

beat goes on
this song was a leaked, however it only a demo track. the final mix of the song are completely different from the leaked with the exceptional of the chorus. it has disco feel song with the wah wah effect in the song. and the part that make this song gonna be big is kanye west. he was featured in the song for rap bridge and it was cunstatic to listen to. another single material from the album.. on and on the beat goes!

dance 2 night
another ol skool sound in the album. with the effect of bass guitar and synth 80s sound make this song are very irresistible. JT return with madgesty for a duet in this songs. another single material.

spanish lesson
guitar, bass, half beat.. and madonna singing in spanish and english. i think this track kinda odd at first however at the 2nd verse kick in with a drum sound.. play this when u wanna try out some action for catwalk around the house... playful, fun and fierce!

devil wouldn't recognise you
the only ballad in the album. timba wave his magic wand for this song. it has the slow tempo track and heavy synth effect. almost resemblance of in god's hand by nelly furtado. awesome! single material, definitely!

mid tempo track. another odd track for the album and probably the weakest of all. it does not blow me away.. who is the master and who is the slave?

for japanese & iTunes pre order track, there are bonus track title 'Ring My Bell'. hmmm...

overall, i am very happy with the album. there are mixture of pop, urban, disco and hip hop in the album. she has selected a good individual to work with her for this album and it was a good choice on material for the album. this album will determine whether US market are ready for madonna.

the album liven to all my expectations. she has selected good song for this album and compared it with her previous successful studio's album The Emancipation of Mimi, this album are at the same par of that, or better. she is back and this time mimi will fiercely hit the charts like no one ever seen before as majority of the track are radio friendly tune. that's good news...

interesting track choice to open the album as this is club banger track. create a good vibe about the whole album. definitely going to be blazing on club charts around the globe! (5 stars)

released as her first single for this album. i personally don't like this track however, the catchy tune got me in the groove!

cruise control (feat damian marley)
radio friendly tune. should release this as future single. good and catchy bridge.. c-r-u-i-s-e control!

i stay in love
first ballad track in the album. classic mimi ballad i must say. anthem for all the lover out there. i like it a lot form the beginning i heard it. i stay in love with you..! (5 stars)

side effetcs (feat young jeezy)
not my cup of tea but it has this 80s synth sound that make the song different. it might grow in me, but have to wait and see.

ah yes, dance club banger. this song will do well in dance charts with all the remixes by hottest dj around the globe. she did performed this song in mtv channel. listen to this when you are about to hit club.. i'm that chick! la la la oh oh wey wey! (5 stars)

second ballad from the album and i got a chance to preview this song last week. another classic mimi ballad. it has the catchy tune and definitely those that sucker for romance love this track. (5 stars)

third ballad track in the album. nothing to shout about this track but it gonna make it on the adult contemporary chart or r&b chart if release as single.

o.o.c or out of control has a mid tempo beat fill up the whole song accompanied by flute (i can't figure the sound well) and it very nice to groovy to. i get so o.o.c, out of control baby! (5 stars)

fifth ballad from this album. u must be bored with me saying, this track is radio friendly. i can't help it and it is true!

sixth ballad from this album and soon to be release as second single. written to inspired anybody that cooping with lost of their loved one. very emotional song and definitely track that she need to release as single to recover from train wreck of touch my body. (5 stars)

final track of the album and the seventh ballad. mimi never forget how she started singing and that through choir. this track is a gospel track where she singing and expressing how she feel inside after all what people has said to her during hard time. she sings... i wish you well... the more you curse me, the more you blessed me.. the word said, love your enemy.. do good to those who hurt you.. pray for those who mistreat you.. i wish you well! a good song to end the album. overall, i like the album very much. majority of the songs in the album are radio friendly and i can smell a lot of singles will be release by this album. i hope that mimi will be releasing 2 singles at the same time to cater to all her fan base, that marketing strategy baby!

the (not) exciting comeback

betcha didn't expect this!

so much hyped put in even before the red curtain raised to the max, so much excitement have been created even before the camera rolling and so much anticipation even before the single was release. music enthusiasts around the wrold, britney's fans especially, excitedly waiting to see her come back performance on MTV Video Music Awards 2007 from Las Vegas.

however, it was a total flopped. britney obviously was all over the place. she hardly move and dance, and her body was so stiff. her dance move way better than her and they actually overshine her through the entire performance. i always love her dance routine as it was electrifying.

what went wrong? according to the news taken frm breathheavy.com - Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel... but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do. Supposedly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino... the hotel flipped. Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" during the performance. Britney and Chris were furious with MTV's sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute. Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air... and for much mature dancing.

such an excuse but to me, she has lost it after all trial and trubulence that she face past years. she simply lost the showbiz but her come back single such an addictive to me (at least).
